I AM A WHORE FOR PROCESS! (ENTER)

These torsos were inspired by Giacometti’s textural application with plaster and his bronze sculptures. The texture Giacometti was able to achieve with these materials is impressive as his own hand is immediately evident on the surface. While I was inspired by his handling of texture, I was just as inspired by Allan McCollum’s Over 10,000 Individual Works.  Within is work he posits the fascination and exhaltation of the unique object by affronting us with the beauty of the mundane. Thinking about the single string that hangs central in so many of Francis Bacon’s paintings--all as though if pulled, some light source unbeknownst to the viewer might illuminate; (ENTER)

This is a lithograph I made from a digitally rendered photograph. Achieved this image by printing on multiple plates. I printed the background in one color and the individual(Julia) in another. All three interations of the Julia Study are experiments with color and saturation. Ultmately, what is the effect of color on the image? As someone who prefers to work in black and white, it is apt that I ask-- (ENTER)
